Our Business

The impressive iron gates at the main entrance to the cemetery were constructed in 1867. In 1871 plans were drawn to build a chapel and residence for the overseer - these buildings, having been annexed over time, now stand to the left of the gates. In 1896 a toll bell, that traditionally tolled when a funeral entered, was added to the residence. In 1927 14 acres of land on the east side of the cemetery were sold to the County of Westchester during construction of the Saw Mill River Parkway, leaving the present 51 acres.
